Sarkeys Foundation Appoints New Board President
Sarkeys Foundation proudly announces Elizabeth Base as the new Board President for 2025. With a strong legal background and extensive experience in board leadership, Elizabeth offers invaluable expertise in this vital position.
Elizabeth grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma, and went on to graduate summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Letters. She then earned her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, graduating with distinction.
For 15 years, she successfully ran her law practice in Norman, Oklahoma, before transitioning to the University of Oklahoma, where she spent five years—first establishing OU’s Pre-Law Advising Program on the main campus, then serving as the Director of the Career Development Office at OU Law.
Following her time at OU, she spent nine years as General Counsel for the District Attorney’s Office, providing legal guidance and advocacy. She now serves as Deputy General Counsel for the Grants Management Office at the Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES).
A dedicated advocate for nonprofits, she has served on various nonprofit boards in the Norman community for over 30 years and currently sits on the State CASA Board. She has also been a Sarkeys Foundation Board Member since 2011, supporting initiatives that strengthen nonprofits across Oklahoma. During Elizabeth’s time on the board, $55 million has been granted to nonprofits throughout Oklahoma.

She resides with her husband in Norman, Oklahoma, and is the proud mother of three children.
